I’m lazy, I have kids and I don’t have time. Those are my excuses, what are yours? But skincare is a must no matter the excuses. Since I am mainly lazy, I keep my routine as simple as possible.

I have dry, combination skin and have been striving to have an all-natural skincare routine – not everything in my routine is natural namely Aveeno and Biore. I’m really intrigued by this – link, and already considering trying it soon.

Step 1: Cleanse – Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleanser
A very gentle cleanser with salicylic acid which keeps breakouts at bay. I make sure to wash my face twice if I had makeup. Hubby and I have been using this for a year now. We love it.

Step 2: Exfoliate – Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub
I do this every other day to get rid of dead skin cells. I find the exfoliating grains just a tad bit harsh on my skin therefore I will not be repurchasing this product. I am going to replace it with Aveeno Daily Scrub and Cleanser eliminating a step to make my routine even more simple. ^.~))

Step 3: Serum – Sibu Hydrating Serum
I’ve recently decided to live on the edge and added a serum in my routine and coincidentally, sibu had a sale. I apply two pumps of this morning and night. Unfortunately, I believe that the alcohol in this irritates my skin.

Step 4: Moisturize – Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins
This product hydrates my skin more than any of the ones I’ve tried.

Step 4: Eye Cream – Origins Plantscription
I like this more than my previous eye cream because it is less sticky and absorbs quickly. It does a very good job of hydrating the under eye area.

Step 5: Lip Conditioner – The Honest Co. Lip Balm
This smells great and hydrates my lips. I have one in my purse, car, bathroom, desk…everywhere!

There you have it!

It is a bitter-sweet feeling that I finished my eye cream today. Okay, just a sweet feeling because I’m so ready to try a new one.
Here’s the nitty gritty on the product:

Name: Ole Henriksen Visual Truth Eye Cream
Price: $45
Weight: 0.5 oz
Claim: Prevents and helps fine lines in the eye area and hydrates at the same time.
Verdict:  I certainly enjoyed using this eye cream because of its hydrating properties. It absorbed quickly despite the sticky feeling after application. Perhaps it is my lack of visible fine lines but I didn’t notice any change under my eyes, no plumping and no brightening either. Although it was worth the $45 as  it lasted for 6 months, I think there is a better eye cream out there. I probably won’t repurchase this again.

I’m thinking of getting the Vichy anti-aging eye cream, this one looks enticing,  or maybe this, Kiehl’s avocado eye cream.

Now onto the sale!

Sibu is offering 40% off your purchase all thanks to michele1218, a beauty guru on youtube. I think it’s a great time to try the products. I have the facial cleanser and the hydrating serum in my list.

Hubby took a week off from work last week and instead of getting ahead of housework I, too, took a staycation. I didn’t completely neglect chores, mind you, but the department that suffered the most is laundry. I dare not include a photo of such a mess because it’s not even worth taking up several kbs of web space. However, you can picture me getting gobbled up by a massive mountain of dirty clothes!
So, I am playing catch up this whole week. (insert sarcastic “yay” here)

But I won’t leave you with such a mental image. Instead, here is a shopping list of things I would like to add to my wardrobe because nothing beats an online window shopping as a distraction. ^.~))v

  1. cambray shirt – perfect worn as a layering piece especially over dresses
  2. skinny belt – would love these in black, nude and brown
  3. lightweight sweater – would also love these in brown and black
  4. brown boots – have been wanting this pair for ages but I can’t quite justify its price tag
  5. basic tee – have these in green and black and would love them in all colors if possible
  6. leopard flats – cutest and most affordable pair I’ve found
  7. parka – perfect over dresses during colder months, thicker than a cardi but thinner than a coat
  8. handbag – can double as a crossbody bag because of the strap, perfect for a mommy bag
  9. leopard scarf – gives a basic tee a little pick me up
  10. polka dot sweater – i love anything polka dot and so happy that it’s a trend this fall, though I wear polka dots all year round.
